Psychology Today Profile

Rosemarie Trevino, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I became a counselor because I wanted to understand the complexity of mental health, not just from textbooks, but through lived experience. My dad is a combat veteran, and growing up, I witnessed the silent weight he carried. His journey with PTSD shaped my own: it sparked a deep desire to learn, to understand, and ultimately to help others navigate their own healing. What began as a search for answers became a calling to hold space for those who feel unseen, unheard, or overwhelmed by what they're carrying.

The space I offer is built on trust, compassion, and radical acceptance, echoing the cultural roots I carry as a Latina from a Mexican lineage, where healing is a collective, resilient, and deeply human experience. Whether you're navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, or relationship challenges, I'm here to walk beside you, not to fix you, but to help you find your way back to your most authentic self.

I work from a person-centered and emotion-focused lens, because your story matters. Your emotions matter. And healing isn't linear-it's messy, beautiful, and deeply personal, and you don't have to go through it alone.

I've had the privilege of working with children, teens, couples, and adults in community mental health and nonprofit settings. I'm trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, certified as an Embodied and Relationship Coach through The Embody Lab, and I hold a master's in Professional Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Addictions.

Outside the therapy room, I'm an Oregon-born, SoCal-raised soul who finds peace in camping, music, and the great outdoors. I come from a military family, and those roots run deep in how I show up, with resilience, respect, and heart.
